Voters in Woods, Woodward, and Dewey counties will be asked to decide on candidates to fill local school board seats Tuesday.
In the Sharon-Mutual race, Misty D. Thompson, a Democrat, is running against Republican Mark Shirley.
In the Arnett school board contest, Republican Eric Smith takes on Democrat Teresa A. Ray and in Freedom, it is the incumbent Rhonda Wayland running against challenger Steve Peck.
Voters in Vici will be asked to approve a $375,000 bond issue to equip, repair, and remodel school buildings. The funds would also go toward acquiring and improving future school sites. Text of the question as it appears on the ballot is included below.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9.
Vici Schools Bond Issue:
"Shall Independent School District Number 5 of Dewey County, Oklahoma, incur an indebtedness by issuing it's bonds in the sum of Three Hundred Seventy Five Thousand Dollars ($375,000) to provide funds for the purpose of constructing and equipping, repairing and remodeling school buildings, acquiring furniture, fixtures and equipment and acquiring and improving school sites, and levy and collect an annual tax, in addition to all other taxes, upon all the taxable property in such District sufficient to pay the interest on such bonds as it falls due and also to constitute a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof when due, said bonds to bear the interest not to exceed the rate of ten (10%) percentum perannum, payable semi-annually and to become due serially within five (5) years from their date?"
