On 5-07-09 Woodward police officer Dan Mathews was dispatched to the 4800 block of Oklahoma Ave in reference to a sexual assault. Mathews spoke with Sue Lougee, a caseworker with the Department of Human Services. Lougee told Mathews that on 4-29-09, she had spoken with a minor now in custody of the DHS who was in Meadowlake Hospital in Enid for evaluation. According to Lougee, the minor disclosed that sometime between 8-27-07 and 9-17-08, her step-father, Mike Peterson, had sex with her. Lougee told Mathews the incident occurred at 206 E. Maury.
On 12-16-09, the DHS conducted a forensic interview with the minor who disclosed to caseworker Tammy Nebhut that Mike Peterson let her smoke pot, and asked her to get into bed while at 206 E Maury. She told Nebhut that she felt scared about being raped or talking about being raped and would not disclose how she had been raped. She told Nebhut she was scared to talk about how it happened.
Peterson is being sought to face a charge of First Degree Rape in Woodward County.
Peterson is 32 years old and may be headed to Illinois. His date of birth is 6-2-77. If you have any knowledge of Peterson's whereabouts, you are asked to contact the Woodward County Sheriff's Office at 580-256-3264.
UPDATE: Peterson was arrested on Feb 25 in Fairview, Illinois by the Illionois State Police acting on a tip from investigators. He has waived extradition and will soon be extradited back to Oklahoma.
