Eighth grade English teacher Amy Whitewater has been selected as Woodward Public Schools Teacher of the Year. The announcement was made Wednesday evening during a ceremony at the NWOSU Woodward campus.
Whitewater has been at Woodward Middle School for five years, and also serves as academic team coach, WEA representative, and digital yearbook advisor. She sits on the Title One Committee, the technology committee, and is the chair of the English Department.
The other candidates for Teacher of the Year were:

Lee Ann Stone---Kindergarten, Westwood ECDC
Emilee Neagle---Second grade, Horace Mann
Shelly Cook---Art, Woodward High School
JoLynn Love--- English and Humanities, Woodward High School
Whitewater, a product of the Woodward Public School system, is now automatically nominated as a candidate for Oklahoma Teacher of the Year.
