pak_bruceA public hearing to consider re-zoning part of the 1600 block of 9th street failed to draw any opposition at the meeting itself, but Commissioner Bogdhan cited protest letters from 7 area residents who were against the change and commissioners subsequently voted to deny the request.

Woodward resident Bruce Pak had petitioned for a change of zoning from C-O (Commercial Office District) to C-2 (General Commercial District) so that he would be able to place a sign on the property advertising his business.  The property is presently used as rental property and the current zoning ordinance prohibits the construction of such a sign.

Commissioners voted unanimously to deny the petition.

The city also renewed a lease agreement with Suzie E. Wheelock for use of the miniature golf course and equipment.  Wheelock will pay the city $151.00 for the 1-year lease.

Commissioners approved ordinance No. 1506, which modifies the boundary of Ward I to include the recent Hank's Trail annexation.

Finally, commissioners received the monthly report from Accurate Environmental Services on the city wastewater treatment system and renewed an agreement with the firm whereby AES will provide professional services to the city for the sum of $2,000 per month for a period of 1 year.
