The ribbon-cutting for the new Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy Store was held in Woodward on Thursday. The store, located at 2802 Oklahoma Ave, replaces the Williams Avenue store which was built in 1982. With automatic doors, wider aisles, and double drive-through lanes, it promises speedier service and much-improved customer convenience. The company hopes to offer a more aesthetically pleasing experience as well, with features such as open beamed ceilings, pendant lighting and an expanded Fresh Market area.
According to Drew Braum, President and CEO, the design of the store was several years in the making. "I really hope the folks in Woodward like it."
The opening will also provide new job opportunities for Woodward-area residents, as the store plans to hire 50 to 60 employees to keep things running smoothly.
The store is one of 278 for the Oklahoma-based company, which also operates locations in Kansas, Texas, Missouri, and Arkansas.
The very first Braum's store opened in Oklahoma City in 1968.
