Landmark Sculpture Installed On South Williams Avenue

E-mail Print PDF

bradfordwilliams11The Bank of Western Oklahoma has installed a larger-than-life bronze sculpture by noted western artist Bradford Williams at the corner of Williams and Downs.

The monument will serve as memorial to the late Donald Harrel, who along with his cousin Jimmy Harrel, purchased the bank around twenty years ago.

The work, entitled "Binding Contract", also pays homage to the values of the American west, whereby a man's word was his bond and business agreements were validated with only a handshake.

The renovation at Boiling Springs was made possible by capital improvement funds allocated to the Tourism Department by the State Legislature. The Oklahoma Tourism Capital Improvement Revolving Fund provides funds from Sales and Use Tax collections for captial improvements at state parks.
